Dear Fellow Legionnaire,

We have received information from the Department of Florida that you have a desire to transfer
to a local Post. We certainly would welcome you to our Post, as we are one of the most active
Posts in Broward County. As a way of introducing ourselves please enjoy our newsletter and we hope that you would take the time to come out and visit us. Any of our officers would be glad to fill you
in on all of the programs we are active in.

Not included in our newsletter is information regarding our Service Officers. They are at the Post every Friday morning starting at 8:30 AM until 10:00 AM and are there to assist any veteran that
needs to petition the Veterans Administration for disability rights. They have many years experience
and are there to help.

The below map should help you locate our Post home and we look forward to meeting you.
If you have any questions regarding a transfer please feel free to contact Pete Nepa
at 954-785-4080 (cell 954-263-5935) our Membership Chairman.

Commander

DD-214 FORMS ARE NOW ONLINE

Veterans can now gain access to their DD-214 forms online, thanks to the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) Web site. Such easy access will certainly help out veterans who need the form quickly for a job application, or American Legion membership. NPRC is also working to make it easier to obtain copies of other documents from military files via the Internet.

Veterans and the next of kin of deceased former service members may now use a new online military-personnel records system to request documents. Other individuals who need documents must still complete the Standard Form 180, which can be downloaded from the Web site. Because requesters are asked to supply essential information to the NPRC for processing, delays that normally occur will be minimized by the online service.

The new Web-based application was designed to provide better service for such requests by eliminating the records center's mail room and processing time.
